Topic: 1968 C Code rear leaf spring markings

Trying to figure out what the paint code would have been on these original leaf springs we are putting back in the car.  Unfortunately nothing was visible when we took it apart but you can see that something was actually striped at one time from the shadow left behind.  Unfortunately dont have a build sheet to see how this was put together.

First Marcus thanks for including all the information we should need to answer your request.

It's interesting that your springs are dated almost a year earlier than the car but it also explains why the paint stripe is located where you found it rather than where we see them marked on springs made in late 68 (production year) 

Believe based on buildsheets and pictures of other C7ZA-Y springs I have the stripe was a single silver one.

So I assume late production 68 leaf springs will have that single silver stripe at the rear near the shackles?  Any pictures or photos of that handy?

Here is an example from a May 16, 68 built Mustang with the same springs. Same supplier as the ones your posted just May 68 dated
