68 Gas Pedal with trim or not
« on: June 26, 2011, 02:01:58 AM »
Trying to figure out if my gas pedal should have the stainless trim rimg or not. Disc brake pad has trim. This is a standard interior convertible. Heard that the verts had a rubber boot on the high beam switch. Can anyone verify that?

Yes, the verts had a rubber boot on the dimmer switch fastbacks did not. I have seen a number in personal observation and it is called out for in assemblyline manual.Bob

I do not think the brake or gas pedal should have the stainless trims with a standard  interior.

The brake pedal definately had "Disc Brakes" is a ss disc and a trim ring from what i remember. But what you both are saying is replace it with a plain rubber pad?

Didn't think that was the question ;) "Trying to figure out if my gas pedal should have the stainless trim rimg or not."

Believe everyone was responding to the question about the trim ring no what the pad design was

The Books say 'Bright Pedal Trim' was for Interior Decor in 1968.

So the way I understand it no bright metal trim on either gas or brake pedals. Sounds like brake pedal may have the center disc with wording?

If the car had factory disc brakes, then it would definitely have the center "DISC BRAKE" circular stainless insert.  Has nothing to do with the trim around the perimeter.

I was looking for the floor pan drain plugs and saw the brake pedal pad. Found original brake and gas pad trims. Maybe they are from the old fastback GT?
