Console wiring help
« on: December 03, 2022, 01:48:40 AM »
I am trying to install a console to my 67 coupe.  I have the original wiring harness as pictured.  What I am trying to work out is where the harness connects to its power source.  The harness connections as pictured go to, rear courtesy light, the PRND21 light and the final connection is for the light to illuminate the storage area.  The connections are all complete and I don't see how a source wire can be introduced into the circuit.  Can you please help?  Some images would be great.

Cheers

I don't have pictures but I can say that there are two supply wires that run under the carpet and ground wires that screw to the floor. The harnesses both come out from under the carpet through the hole in the carpeting for the shifter. Both of these wires plug into two seperate bullet connectors up near the fuse block.
There is an early-style shifter light and a later style shifter light. It looks like you have the early style. I believe the reason for the later style was a change in the plug pattern/design to prevent this confusion and to prevent plugging them in incorrectly.

It appears that you have the courtesy lights and the PRND21 harnesses connected together. As said below they are two separate circuits that originate at the fuse block. You will need the wires that connect them. Alway pay attention to the wire color and strip at connections. Good Luck
