Tape colors?

Sorry not sure what your referring to on the housing of the speedometer.

Could you be looking marking on the speedometer cable housing?

Was looking at photo of NOS 4 speed cable that had 2 pink tape bands about 3 inches apart. ID number is on tape. NPD doesn't have anything for speedometer cables. One source stated Ford used a yellow tape on housing for assembly worker to position cable in firewall. Thanks Jeff for picture of 67 dash panel posted awhile back, answered my question on dash without factory air. Thanks

Yes they were "marked" with a tape ID and locator though it didn't always end up at the firewall. Earlier cars had an ink stamp on the cable housing.

Sorry but I don't have and examples from 71 drag pak cars or for that matter any 71's though I guess I should look at my own car to at least see if on survived
