Fastback Fold Down Seat Latch Knob
« on: October 13, 2022, 07:50:37 PM »
I have two different styles of the seat back latch knob -- one pair which I believe came from my SJ March car and one from a parts car. I have two of the long style and only one of the short. I think the two long styles came from the Shelby.
They are listed in the NPD catalog as long and short style. They are both chrome, have a Phillips head and 1/4-20 thread. I wonder if this is a running change, a vendor for SJ only or something else.

Thanks for bringing this item up.  I'll add a picture and discuss what is in the MPC (which is a good reference but not always "factory accurate")

Basic part# 62418 - rear seat back latch handle assembly
Per the 1968 dated 1960-68 MPC:
1965 = (1) C5ZZ-6362418-A
1966 = (1) C5ZZ-6362418-B
1967/68 = (2) C5ZZ-6362418-B

From this it appears that there was a change for the new 1966 model year, no other indicator or change.

The 1975 dated 1965-72 MPC waters it down:
1965/66 = (1) C5ZZ-6362418-B
1967/70 = (2) C5ZZ-6362418-B
1971/72 = (1) D1ZZ-6362418-A

Nothing to add from the 1967 parts and accessories catalog.

Time for a survey
