Convertible rear seat trim
« on: December 02, 2010, 01:10:55 AM »
Hi again

Is there supposed to be a aluminum molding, that sits directly on the top of the back seat against the top well , i have nothing for it, but seem to remember seeing it on another 65 convertible, i haven't been able to find a picture to confirm my suspicion.

Thanks again
Graeme

On my 66 ,which I believe is the same as 65. There is a stainless steel trim piece which mounts on the back of the seat support over the well liner. see photos.

That piece of trim is stainless and serves as the slot that the top boot snaps into along its' front edge.

Thanks for going out of your way and taking some photos for reference, much appreciated.  I definitely do not have the part.  Does anyone have a name, part number or place to buy it from?  Not having much luck finding it in a catalogue.

I don't believe that piece is reproduced.  As far as a name, I've always referred to it as a boot cover retaining strip.

There is such a metal piece on my car that should be original.

With a bit of time invested in a web search, I found this.

I'm not sure if this replacement part would do the job nor if it is ok for concours. Still sharing the link. Maybe it can help someone.
