Automatic trans PCW Y
« on: October 08, 2023, 05:09:54 PM »
I just pulled the trans out of my project 64.5 convertible to get it rebuilt.  The tag reads PCW Y, 60 4C6.  Can anyone tell me anything about this trans?  I searched the web and have found nothing thus far.

Thank you,

Corey

Cory,
The transmission is for a 260 CID engine, built in 1964 on March 6, third shift, first line - and the PCW Y type is not listed in either the 68 or 75 editions of Ford Car Parts, Section A70. This "may" be one of those oddballs.

Thank you Jim.  My car is a 1964.5 260 May car so that makes sense.

Following up,

From the source document discussed below, the C4 PCW-Y transmission is for a 1964 Comet 260 2V.
