Speedometer cable routing for 428CJ automatic
« on: July 27, 2021, 07:58:18 PM »
'69 Dearborn 428Cj C6 automatic speedometer cable.

How many clips are there for mounting the cable?

The cable is lying on the exhaust pipe. no matter how much I try to adjust it I can't see any way of keeping it off the pipe.

I have only one clip holding the cable under the car by the transmission, there is a hole on the front frame rail. Should there be a clip there as well?

That's the only place i can see where a clip would help. My car didn't have one there during disassembly (It also had a melted cable)

Was digging though my bags and found the clip! (apparently it did have it!)
Just got to see an amazing collection of Boss 429's and GT 500 SCJ Verts today!!
Was able to even crawl under a couple and find out which way the clip was installed!!

Do either of these look like the 2 clips you are referring to? One is screwed into driver frame and the other is pushed into the trans crossmember. I'm swapping my speedo cable so good time to get them correct. Thank You
