I was so happy I had the one NOS version.
The high.
And then I dragged it out to compare to another NOS version for the other side.
The low.
I get the idea the repops are actually nicer than the crap that's left over.
I have the opportunity to buy an NOS pax side and it's really nice. But $200 nice and once installed can anyone tell?
Often what is found still as service parts even in the 90's was stuff many of us went through in dealerships and refused only to have the part go back in the system. So as the NOS supply dwindled the condition of what was remaining continued a downward spiral.
Think I've mentioned it here before but I got a new rear case for an early alternator many years ago. Great untouched original aluminum and wouldn't you know it it was egged shaped. Likely the reason it was still in the factory box all nice and neat. The only challenge for allot of the reproduction parts is that for a long long time those were not created using original parts but a later, some time much later, service replacement.
As far as the choice consider that at least 75% or so of the weatherstrip will be visible and eye height for anyone judging the car if judging is your measuring stick. If there is a difference they don't have to dig under the car, trunk or dash to look for it. Just a thought
