1) interior floor pan paint: how liberally or conservatively was this applied over the primer?
Just depends on the worker at the time, how much effort they put into painting the adjoining panels, their height and even (based on what you will see int he finished product) the contrast between the red oxide, light gray primer over spray in some areas and the exterior color
2) areas where seam sealer was brushed or sprayed in the interior? Note: the library has an article on seam sealer but I don’t have a good understanding of where it goes in the interior.
There were a bunch and they differed typically depending on body type. It was applied by spraying or sprayed then brushed
Some of the major ones
- Firewall panel to a pillar inner panels. Often there is a glob of sealant (maybe the worker wiping off his brush) in the middle of the forward tilted passenger side floor over the panel date area
- Main floor to firewall
- Seat riser to main floor inner seam/edge
- Main floor to rear floor
- Main floor to rear spring torque panel
- Rear inner wheel well inner housing to rear and main floor
- Rear seat riser forward floor support for quarter trim panel on a fastback to main floor
- Trap door frame panels at the floor connection
3) was interior seam sealer applied before or after paint?
The vast majority - after
