I?m looking for photos of how the lower AC liquid line on a 289 V8 is routed from the radiator support to the firewall with the sight glass.  Are there clamps holding it?  Is there a ridged section?

Kind of surprised that we have not posted a set of pictures in the 65 Mustang Unrestored Picture section of the site with AC. Will have to see if we can find a nice one to post

Would really help to know when and where your car was built

Yes I looked through the un-restored pics and didn't see an AC.  I'm sure there are pics somewhere out here.  I did find a couple with the engine out showing the holes in the radiator support.   Any case mine is fastback A code MFG august 22 1965, San Jose.

The "1965 Mustang Electrical Assembly Manual" (AM0008) pag56 shows routing, hole locations and drilling information.
I recommend you get a set: Chassis (64-65), Body, Interior, Engine, and Weld and Sealant (64-65).

Thanks. That's a pretty late built example

I'm guessing that we're also looking for factory installed rather than dealer

Closest example I could find.

A couple showing a clamp rearward of the sight glass. Pretty much bent to suspend the solid line from there to the radiator support where it connects. Hope this helps

These are great pictures.  It appears there are no clamps on the aluminum line up the shock tower.  it's just there.    Also whats does the clamp on the export brace look like?  Also were any AC factory installed?  I had heard the factory put them in the trunks for the dealer to install of you ordered it there were no true factory installed units in 65-66.  Is this true?

There's a clamp that holds the sight glass hose to the shock tower, can be seen in one of the pics above.  The clamp that attaches to the cowl brace is metal with multiple angles for both hoses coming from the evaporator unit.

My 9/65 scheduled build '66 San Jose car with factory A/C had the clamp near the sight glass as shown in Jeff's 5R241xxx picture.  Years ago there was a man in Texas making a copy of the original bracket that goes on the shock tower brace.  I have one on my car but won't be able to take a picture until sometime in May.  I am sure someone will offer a photo of this detail before then.

Here's a picture I found which appears to show the clamp on the export brace.  I believe it to be original type clamp

That's a standard brace -- not an export brace.
