OE Style Engine Oil Pan Drain Plug ~Pictures
« on: February 19, 2019, 03:21:25 PM »
I believe this should be a "Standard Part" over the Classic years but does anyone have close-up shots of original Engine Oil Pan Drain Plugs?

Looking for a 67 289 in particular but I don't think there were many versions (for engine options/years).

Thanks Jeff. I bought an aftermarket one that looks just exactly the same (that is 'same' once I remove the embossed lettering). That was what I was hoping to see.

There may be more than one correct style, as Jeff's pics show.
I have a few in known original pans and one has the mark "F  - C" and the other is mostly flat but has the circle raised embossment area where the bolt shank would be. They both have a "pilot" on the threaded side.
The original nylon washers appears to be fairly thin -- thinner than those you buy at the box stores (left in pic 2).

Sorry everyone. I guess I didn't look hard enough for this info. I too am looking for a drain plug for a 68 289 Sprint B. Here's a picture of the one I have and need a good replacement. Any suggestions? Also, is the gasket black or white?

The two pictures I posted were of one of each  -plain and with the F-C.

Another look of that same car/plug (with a little adjustment to the contrast) with a better look and with the painted metal gasket
