Let me at least try and help with one part of your questions. Lead time/date difference between the real build date and when the windshield was made.

- Remember the windshield will only have year and month so no where near being exact

- What I found
 Example 1 - Car finished Sept 1968 8H - Windshield made during Aug 1968
 Example 2 - Car finished Dec 12 1968 - Windshield made during Nov 1968
Example 3 - Car finished mid June 1968 - Windshield made during April 1969

Hope this helps

I know there are at least a dozen of these windshield "who is the best" topics but wondered if the windshield  should be very close to the same date as the side windows?

Interesting that I have mostly 6M windows (1 7A!) in my March 2 car. That's an easy 2 months before build. My windshield is no longer stock or a good repo.

If your asking about all years and plants think that may be way too large a net of potential examples to make any sense or comparison from.

Hi, it's been several years since I've been on. Hope everyone is well. June 12th 1969 Shelby GT 350, Dearborn. I need to know if there is a glass company that can etch the white carlite bug on a windshield they sell.

Thank you

Found another tread on the same subject along with another one with an article on the markings so rolling the two into one and including the link to the one with the article below
