Topic: 1968 and up group 22 batteries

I didnt see this mentioned in the 65 to 67 group 22 batteries thread,  was there a "21" marked group 22 type battery used  as an assembly line battery in 68/69 for the cars that came with a group 22 battery ? I understand this particular battery is a service replacement because of the type of sticker on top.

More then just the 21 wrong  compared to assemblyline on that service sticker . 21 marked batteries are not used on Mustang cars in 68 from the assembyline that I have ever found. 69 and 70 is a different story.The good news is that you could probably get ECS to make up a correct assemblyline sticker to use in place of. the service sticker

A lot of different info in that thread so I am assuming you are referring to the 21 aspect. The one posted in this thread that has punch outs for dates is a service battery. The assemblyline batteries did not have the punch out date alternatives as far as I know. A service battery needed a reference for when it was put into service for warranty of the battery qualification. The seller of the battery punched out the applicable date in the assorted tabs. Assemblyline batteries didn't need date punch outs because they used the build date or day it was sold new typically instead.  I had BP tell me that he is convinced the 21 marked battery came in some Boss 302 's. I have one on the shelf that I got years ago that needs a new home so I hope that he is correct. I admit I am not as confident on 69/70 batteries info as I am on the 68 and earlier versions . I amended my previous post.
