66 GT Gas Cap Question
« on: January 31, 2022, 04:14:09 PM »
I bought a 65 GT. The prior owner had put a 66 GT gas cap on it and I've replaced it with a correct 65 gas cap.

The 66 gas cap is not original as it says on the back: "A Reproduction By Pro Products USA."

It is in excellent condition, but I can't find a single thing about Pro Products USA online. Anybody know anything about this company? The possible value of this gas cap if I sell it?

Thanks!

I understand that. I guess my question was more related to "quality."  Did Pro Products make quality parts?
I just learned that Scott Drake bought Pro Products.

Yes, they were located in Ontario, California. I know that it was family owned. If I remember correctly they started out with fiberglass parts for Shelby Mustangs? The patriarch died, the family eventually sold to the employees, maybe? Probably got absorbed by a larger entity in the early 2000's.

Like most/many there was a balance between quality, cost and other details so that cost would be affordable for the masses. Would not describe their products as high quality or duplicating all of the details found on originals
