I'm struggeling where the U shims have to be positioned.
May be someone can help me out posting some car pictures.

They are normally not used. Maybe if the body was smashed in where the bumper attaches? Not sure why AMK would include those.

The shims are helpful if aligning a typically bad fitting repro bumper . At least compared to the typical better fitting OEM.
