Where can I get a lower control arm plug to put in place of the zerk fittings I have installed? I understand the plug is 1/4-28 tapered plug. A small 1/4-28 bolt fits in the hole properly but a 1/2 inch long bolt is definitely too long. And I understand these need to be red also as this started during the 1968 year. The part number for the plug is 374714 by the way.
I was reading an older thread here and found reference to http://www.anghelrestorations.com/When you go to there site they have a document describing the finishes for the suspension for the 65 to 73 years. In the document it mentions beginning in 68 the plug iin the lower control arm is painted red. I've attached that document too. You'll see a picture of the arm on page 8 with the red plug and on the page 9 it mentions this begins in the 68 year.https://www.concoursmustang.com/forum/index.php?topic=20958.msg132804#msg132804
