Has anyone had issues with the shaker 500 6 disc radio cd player failing to work? I have this in a 2007 Cal-special
and it started with error messages that it had a CD ERROR, then it quit playing CD's and now it sounds like it is shuffeling the CD's except there aren't any CD's in the unit. Of course it went out of warranty in September. My wife has a 2008 Ford Fusion with the same unit and it is starting to do similar things. I will look into replacing this unit with a ford unit if I can get one without spending to much, or look into an after market unit it I can't find one.

i have not had any problems with the two units i have but have seen similar problems discussed over here. www.mustangsource.com. check the warranty and service section.

We had the same thing happen with the cd changer in my wife's 2002 sportrac. It had to be replaced but thankfully it was still under warranty at the time. Didn't have any problems with the replacement or with the one in her 2006 GT.

I lights behind the buttons went off in mine, only a problem at night.

What was the problem with yours?  I noticed mine are really dim right now (2009 V6)...The only thing I did was add fog lights to the car but in no way did I do anything to the radio....Anyone have thoughts on this?
