steering wheel to steering column gap
« on: July 19, 2021, 05:32:39 PM »
How much of a gap should there be between the steering wheel and the steering column? I put my steering wheel on and torqued it down and there is a 1/4 inch gap between the wheel and the column. Is this correct?

Since no one had an answer for me I kept working at it. I found that a gap that big is not correct. With that big gap the horn spring loaded contacts in the steering column do no touch the metal rings in the steering wheel. As a result I had no horn. It was frustrating but I loosened the steering column and pulled it up to close the gap and lo and behold I now have a horn.
