I have a NOS Midland booster with the tag above. The booster has Ford script so it's not assembly line. And, if the tag is to be believed it's a 68. What's interesting is that it's a C8ZA not a C8ZZ as most replacements might be.
Not necessarily. Many service parts (indicated by the fourth character being a "Z" - C8ZZ), were identified by their assembly line/engineering drawing/original part number. There's no rhyme or reason, it just happened.
