Original 66 AM-FM Radio Bracket??
« on: November 07, 2016, 10:58:25 PM »
Does anyone either have a picture or know what the original AM-FM Radio Brackets look like. I realized as I was trying to put it in that it has a different mounting bracket than a standard AM radio. Or if someone has one to sell, I'd be down to buy it, but I've searched online and can't even seem to locate a picture of what one looks like.

Thanks,

Jason

There are two assembly drawings of the bracket showing it installed on top of the radio to the dash in the 66 Mustang Electrical Manual.

Thanks for the reply Jim, I saw that in my manual, but I'm actually just on the off chance trying to with find one, or see at least an actual picture of one.

Thanks for posting Josep, but I believe that's just a standard AM radio bracket, I'm looking for the the AM/FM radio bracket that goes with this radio, see attached... I believe it's shorter in length and should mount on top to the bolt you see in the first picture.

I`d have to look in my car but I don`t think it is any different than the am one/or that the am one does not work.

It's a different mounting spot, on the AM model it mounts to the back, on the AM/FM it mounts on the top and because of the units size, it I believe has to be smaller I think...

Yes, we looked at this drawing as well and came to the conclusion it's probably more like this. I may reach out to Brandt because I saw in one of his blogs something about an original AM/FM radio, so maybe he has a picture or something. This would be a good one to have on the forum since no one seems to know.

Reviving a very old post from the dead. I have the same question. Morsel, did you ever find an original bracket? I have a 66 AM / FM I am about to install but my stock AM bracket won?t work. It looks like I will have to fabricate something while I hunt for the correct one. Problem is, I have no idea what it looks like.
