rear exhaust port
« on: March 20, 2021, 12:56:24 AM »
Good evening again... I am trying to figure out the placement for cutting the rear valance for the exhaust port, i have seen a few different pics of them and have seen two different versions, i have cutting 1" down from centre screw and 6" each way from that point and 5 3/4" down supposedly giving me a 5 x 12" rectangle, but it doesn't look right, am i missing something, pics would help out this old fart. thanks for any help

I noticed that there is a variety of fitment variances with the rear valance cut out. I decided on my car that I would cut it out to fit the car. I started by fitting the valance panel to the car, specifically the sides where these often don't fit very well. I then fit the collector to the car with the springs and shackles installed. Once that was finished, I installed the tail piece and marked its position on the collector with tape. I cut the rear valance with a rectangle that was obviously too small but would be big enough to see the tape on the collector. From this point, I kept enlarging the hole until I could bolt on the tail piece. Then I set a reasonable clearance around the tail piece but tight enough that you can't see the cut out when standing a few feet behind the car.

Hope this helps.
