Door glass window channel blackout
« on: March 12, 2021, 11:23:49 AM »
Noticed on a couple of mid/late June 64 convertibles I have that the top of the window channel is sprayed with black paint.  At first I thought it might just be some overspray from an interior touch-up by a prior owner, but one of the cars has a white interior.  To get this overspray it would also require that window be up all the way with the window and the seal being masked and the beltline weatherstrip removed.  Both cars happened to have the chrome bead on the outer beltline weatherstrip and the black crosshatched bead on the inner.

Wondering if this is an an actual procedure for this time period of production or just a fluke.

Thanks,

I'm going to say it was something a previous owner did.
