67 wheel size?
« on: September 22, 2020, 10:33:51 PM »
In the process of restoring a 67 Mustang coupe, 289 automatic, non-AC car, manual steering and manual drum brakes. My question is, does anyone know what size the steel wheels are that would have come on the car? Will be using hub caps once the restoration is complete. The Marti Report states the car came with F70-14 Wide Oval White Sidewall Nylon tires and wheel covers.

As I recall the standard rim was 5.5 inches and the wide ovals were mounted on 6.0 inch rims. I am sure some one will correct me if I am wrong.

Marty is correct, but so as to avoid any confusion wide ovals were on 14x6 as standard.  But wide ovals mounted on styled steel wheels were on a 14x5.5" wheel.   I hope that clears it up.

Thank you both! The car we're restoring came with just steel wheels with wheel covers. Again, thank you both!
