67 K-Code Automatic question
« on: September 20, 2020, 04:35:19 PM »
Asking for someone else: What transmission would have been in a 67 Automatic K-Code, would it have been a standard C6 or would it have still been a HiPo C4, or something else?

I don’t have any plant info or build date, as I said asking for someone who reached out to me for general info.

Thanks as always,

Jason

It was a C4 designed for the application (K code 67) but was different than what we think of as a 66 K code C4. So some different parts and identification. There may have been two (another running change?) versions installed over the production year as I'm finding 67 C4's from later cars that even the Aug 67 MPC does include/cover

Interesting, would a Marti Report specific this, again I'm a 65/66 guy so never had any dealing with a Marti Report, how specific they actually are?

But thanks for the info, he showed me a picture of the cover and it was a standard "A" servo cover which made me think it may have been changed...

65/66 used the C servo and various other internal different components . The 67 K code used the A servo along with some internal differences.

OK, we did just confirm it based on the tag which he first said he didn't have but then just found "PEE-K" which according to my transmission spec sheet is a 67 K auto transmission.

Thanks all...

Have found PEE-L tagged C4 in late 67 Shelby applications also. Just the next letter in the sequence and as mentioned above the MPC in 67 didn't list them but there listing of the -K's would have worked just fine for service replacement purposes
