Fuel Line Clamps for 68's
« on: March 15, 2013, 08:43:54 AM »
Thanks for the correction guys, I should have looked at my own car. Most 68s should have had zinc finish spring clamps right?

Split the topic so others can find the info later ;)

"Most"   think it depends on what plant your asking about and which location. For the sender and fuel pump would agree

Here are three examples of foot/torque box fuel line clamps (what I'm seeing on all - so far) from San Jose through 68

I thought I had looked at a 67 mid year Dearborn car that used the crimp bands from the fuel tank to the pump and the spring clamps on the fuel line to filter.

I thought the Wittek style were only used in January - April 68 at SanJose? My dads April SJ California Special had the Witteks my July SJ High Country Special had Spring clamps but could no longer tell the finish.

Jeff do you have any from the 67 model year, Early 68 and late 68? I am trying to establish when they started and ended using the Wittek clamps.
Thank for taking the time to look. Marty

Marty, from my June SJ '68 build...........the clamps at the floor support have white-out from the flash, they have a gold tint to them.

Jeff do you have any from the 67 model year,

After the change of style to the fuel they used the spring clamps - Picture is from the latest built car of #23057

Early 68 and late 68?

Most cars I have fit that mid through spring period could not find a single spring clamp in a picture for the mid fuel line clamps. Also included the few Cougars I have from that plant and year but have no idea when they were build but they were the same

Thank you Jeff for your research. Tim I had all ways thought the Wittek stopped in SJ by the end of April but Dudleys car shows them being used in to June.
Would I be correct in saying the no one has see the Witteks used in the 67 Model year at any plant?
