Topic: 1964.5 wiring help needed!!!

This may not be the right place for this but I am desperately in need of help.  I have a D-Code mustang I am trying to get up and running while home from college.  I have gotten the headlights, blinkers, and breaklights working finally after installing a new headlight switch, turn signal switch, and break light switch.  The tail lights will not come on when I pull the headlight switch, however I can send 12V to the black wire at the connector the headlight switch plugs into, and they light up fine.  My headlight switch has 12V at both terminals and works fine when bench tested.  I believe something is wrong with the connector that the headlight switch plugs into but I don't know how to get one that works without buying a whole new underdash wiring harness.  If anyone has ANY sources or ideas please let me know.  Thanks guys!

Did you try circumventing the connector to ensure that it is the problem? I know on 1967's, wiring connectors are cheap. Not that familiar with 1964.5.

yes, I put 12 volts directly to taillight wire and they worked, and tested the switch as well. The connection of power has to be the only issue I think

Measure the voltage of the female plug on the underdash side that corresponds to the running lights with the headlight switch pulled out.  You should see 12V.  If not, there could be a broken wire at or near the headlight switch.

Which connector?  At the headlight switch itself, or at the female plug that mates to the tail-light?  That should be a black wire with a white female bullet molding.

Install a temporary wire to see if that 12 volts from that connector can power the tail lamps.
