Do we have any information on the last day of Mustang production at Dearborn. My 1966 Fastback GT, pony interior, HIPO, Emberglow exterior, Emberglow and parchment pony interior with Washington DC, DSO has a VIN build date of 12V. So, it must have been one of the very last 1966 Fastbacks built optioned like this. Maybe even the last one.

Not sure what "information" you would want to see. Sure it was rushed and the workers just wanted to get it done and out of the way - to get a few days off and others so they could get to the task of changing the line over and cleaning up.

Remember that the date you have is the scheduled date not possibly the real one. It could have been built three weeks prior. Always wonder why someone would wait so late int he year to buy last years model. Guess they didn't like the new design.

Keep in mind, as Jeff mentioned, cars were not assembled in numerical order.  If the last one was 999999 the one ahead of it would not necessarily be 999998

No since none of those records were kept and in turn are available for any of the plants that year. Likely why so many selling their late built cars claim "one of the last"
