Sorry about the "quote" highlight issue but I can't get the quote button to work .....
From krelboyne:
" The C5AZ-2760-A chrome handle has 12-24 threads.
The C9ZZ-2760-A chrome handle has 1/4-20 threads.
The D0ZZ-2760-A black plastic handle has 5/16-18 threads.
The D???-2760-? black plastic has no threads, but press fit onto the knurled rod end. Have one example of this in the yard, plus my customer had one too. I am thinking service replacement? "
Not sure this is correct...
I went and dug out some NOS ones and this is what I came up with.....
C9ZZ-2760-A is chrome and appears to have 5/16 threads
D0ZZ-2760-A is black plastic and appears to have a 5/16 hole with no threads
This appears to match what Vcode found in the MPC, the C5AZ is Chrome with small threads, C9ZZ is Chrome with large threads, and the D0ZZ is black plastic and presses on the knurled rod . I have 2 or three of each and they are all the same
"I checked the MPC and there is three listed as you mentioned for the 69-70's
1969 C5AZ-2750-A
1970 C9ZZ-2760-A "Before 1/5/70"
1970 D0ZZ-2760-A "From 1/5/70"
So to answer Scotts question …… The C9ZZ-A chrome handle should screw right on your early 70.(they do on mine) I think the early 69's used the "A" version of the parking brake assy with the smaller rod and the C5AZ knob, late 69's and 70's before 1/5/70 used the "B" version of the parking brake assy that moved the location of the release up and away from the parking brake pedal and increased the rod to 5/16, using the C9ZZ knob, and late 70's used the press on plastic knob.
Here's a pic ..
Hope this helps, John
