Topic: Vent window hardware

I am currently resorting the vent window frames of my 1967 mustang fastback.  I have rechromed frames and am reassembling the frames, however am missing one of the Phillips head screws and the top of the frame in the corner which attaches the aluminum bar to the frame.  This is the piece which the division bar slides into.  Does anyone know what the  specific size and possibly where to find one?  Any help is appreciated.

Do you have a set of the 1967 Mustang Assembly Manuals? I see one screw (52052-S13) on page 38 of the body manual for the frame to the track, and a second identical screw used on the vent window itself as shown in the 60-68 Ford Car Parts (aka MPC) Section 230 pg 52. It's described as 6-20 X 1/4 FLH 0.262, XREC, BLUNT TIP. As a chrome plated screw, it was only used on 67 Mustangs, 68 Mustangs used a -S9 finish, bright zinc. As far as I can tell, no other Mustang used this size screw. It is not available at AMK separately, but may be part of a kit.

Thank you for your response.  The Phillips screw I am looking for is on the inside edge of the vent window frame which attaches the division bar at the top to the chromed frame.  The division bar is also attached to the frame at the bottom with 2 rivets.  The screw appears to be a pan screw which is black or phosphate in appearance, and appears to be a size 8.  So far I cannot find it in the Assembly Manuals, however it is probably there.  Thank you again.

What I can tell you is that the screw is a Pan Head tapping screw with machine threads. What I cannot tell you is what size it is, both in diameter and length. It can either be a size 6-32 or an 8-32 screw (the 32 is threads per inch). Pictures are funny like that. A size 6 screw is 0.138 inch dia (about 9/64 inch), a size 8 screw is 0.164 in dia (just a bit larger than 5/32 inch). The length is also critical in determining what you need. If you had a set of calipers that would help.
I'm being "nitty-gritty" specific because I may have the screw, in both sizes 6 and 8. There's other information you do not have about this screw as well. I looked for a "known" size screw or nut on your car to compare to and to narrow down what is required, but there are not too many machine screws used that are available.
Measure the length, take a picture, then lay the screw on a tape measure and take another.

Bingo, that is the screw I am looking for.  I just measured before logging on, #8-32, 5/16" length.
