Lower Control Arms: Natural or Painted Black?

I've got a '69 Mach 1 that was built on June 5th, 1969, at the Metuchen plant.  The original lower control arms were long gone before I got the car.  The MCA rules state that original control arms could've been left entirely natural, or could've been painted black with the ball joint end left natural.  Is there any way of knowing which ones my car had originally?

Also, did all '69s receive natural upper control arms, or was there some variation there as well?

I've never seen an original lower that was not dipped (inner end) in semi-gloss black - other than being completely rusty ;)

The last 69 NJ car I looked at with original suspension had them dipped also

Now the uppers are described in the rules as being natural (not dipped) and I believe that is widely supported and the current belief by the vast majority of the restoring and showing community for 69 Mustangs and Shelbys

The only non dipped lowers I have ever seen were service units. Bob
