Correct carb spacer?

I have two spacers floating around. Both have original part numbers but look different. Which is correct for a 65 A code?

In looking at the 1965 Master Parts Catalog, the Service Part Number was C3OZ-9A589-B. The 1960-68 MPC shows this part as C3OZ-9A589-C. The July, 1965 Ford OSI Catalog shows that the C3OZ-9A589-B was replaced by the C3OZ-9A589-C. This means that the parts were basically the same, but some minor change was made between January of 1965 and July of 1965.

Note that the Part Numbers noted above are Service Part Numbers, not the numbers that would be cast into the parts themselves. The cast numbers would most likely be similar, like C3OE-9A589-B. Thus, if the two spacers you have contain the same casting numbers, other than the suffixes, either could be correct, depending on when your car was built, versus when the change of the part was made.
What are the numbers cast into your spacers ?

Royce : Thanks. My oversight.

Based on what Brian Posted, the C4OE may be correct. The different suffixes just depict later versions. It does seem odd that the C3 Part Numbers had C4 castings though, although not that unusual. I wonder if anyone has a spacer on their '65 A Code with a C3 casting ?

"After further review", in looking at my old Casting Numbers book revised in 1997, it shows only Part Numbers (no casting numbers) for 1965, but for 1966, it does show the C4OE-9A589-A casting number for the A Codes, K Codes and GT 350's.

Just passing on what is noted there.

Ya the source may be questionable since its incorrect at least in part - so other details should be scrutinized IMHO. GT-350's didn't use a spacer in 65 ;)

If its the "book" I think it is I believe allot of the info was sourced from the MPC's rather than from cars or period documents

So I’m sending the motor out to be rebuilt and the guy needs everything that will be on the car so I am sending the c5zf-c carb with the motor. The mating service of the spacer is different on the ones provided. One has indentations and the other is smooth. Based on Brian’s pics the smooth surface one should be the correct one?
