Paint color on 1967 GT500 Brake System
« on: March 10, 2020, 11:54:08 PM »
Were the rear brake drums and front calipers painted from the factory? If so, what color and flat or semi gloss? thanks.

Rear brake drums on the 67 Shelby were semi gloss black painted with a brush once the drum was installed on the car. The whole drum was not paint typically just the outside facing surface and then only the portion around the outside of the wheel studs and not the center .You should see brush strokes and the sides were not painted other then the occasional brush stroke from doing the front side. The front caliper had the outward facing half only ether zinc plated silver or painted with silver shaded paint. The inner half was bare cast iron.
