I thought I would list this radio here first before I try any online auctions. I was going to keep this for another project or perhaps update it with current electronics to use in my 67 coupe but ultimately was thinking it should be given the chance to go to a Concours correct car first.
This is an original 1967 Mustang AM/FM radio. It has the correct stamping, F7TBZ, and an ink stamp of August 29, 1966. This is an untouched original. It is in very good cosmetic shape, has uncut wires, and even the original pass/test sticker still present. The only issue with this radio is that I currently can only get a.m. stations. The FM band sounds like it’s trying to tune but I am unable to get any local FM stations. The radio would of course need to be cleaned up and gone through and there is a chance that the FM side of the radio could possibly still work. I only bench tested this radio with a 12 V source and a spare antenna.
This is a very rare one year only radio. Those of you who understand it’s history know the rarity of this piece. Cosmetically is in very good shape, no scratches on the lens, no heavy pitting on the knobs or push buttons, and the needle still shows a nicely colored orange. There is only minimal corrosion on the underneath side of the radio. This could be easily neutralized and or replated for a concourse restoration. Please PM me for any questions.
Price is set at $750.00 which includes shipping and insurance in the lower 48 states. PayPal friends / family please. Anyone outside of the US would have to arrange to pay for international shipping.
Thank you, Bill.
