Correct 65 SJ Radiator for my car

I've exhausted my search for a definitive answer. Maybe someone here can help. Is the proper radiator for my 65 SJ GT coupe, with factory air, scheduled build date 5/17:  C4ZE Y2?

And if so...what would be considered "acceptable" date codes on the radiator? I've located one dated 1/65, but I'm wondering if that is too early and that maybe I should hold out for one closer to 5/65?

The Y2 typically came on a manual V8 car without A/C. Your car would have typically got the rare G2 like the Shelby's used. The Y2 will work but just not how it came from the factory. FYI to offer perspective in case you are not aware if you can find a 5/2,3,4 or 5 G2 that is ready to use for less then 2500.00 it is a deal.

My 65 SJ GT coupe was built on May 5th per the door tag.
I am the 3rd owner. The guy i bought it from changed out the original radiator to a aluminum one and did to keep the original one.
The car is a 54K original miles. I hunted around looking for a close radiator like you are and I found a rusted out GT built 12 days after mine and the radiator was part of the package. The marking on it were C4ZE M2 AND date on it was 3/65 W-MO. I looked for 2 years trying to find the radiator and finally a google search turned one up at West Coast Cougar. It was installed into a 67/68 car so the i swapped it back into a 65/66 brackets.

Looks like I need the elusive G2?.and a very deep wallet.

My 65 SJ GT fastback 4 speed car with a 5/15 build date has the G2 3/65 dated radiator. I would expect that yours should be the same but maybe not. I don't have air conditioning. Good luck in your search.
