64 1/2-66 Small parts -- What is it?
« on: January 11, 2020, 07:22:57 PM »
I looked for a thread in which we could ask, "What is it?" I'm referring to small parts that are hard to look up, especially if this year is not second hand to you.

Can't find one (or I'm lazy), but here goes. Found in a stash of 65-66 parts.
What are they? Olive Drab on both, clamp has rounded edges.

Clip on the left is used on the tabs that hold the instrument cluster to the dash. I don’t think the round Jesus clip is used on 64 to 66 mustangs

Olive drab is the color for some of the 5/16 fuel line clips in 67.

Interesting note on the fuel line clip, Bob.

This came in a plastic box in which a 65 or 66 owner had taken a car apart, but never put it back together. It was never mixed in with my 67 and later parts.

+1 on the gauge bezel screw clip because of the angled base

Yes that clamp is from later as in 70's? given the rounded (safety) corners

Included in allot of replacement fuel filter (carb mounted style) kits and at parts houses

I am not sure what real difference it makes but at the very least they are later parts whether mixed in by accident by you, or mixed in by mistake by whom ever you got them from. As Jeff mentioned the rounded ends indicate although the 67 style that is 5/16, and the right olive drab color used in 67  they are like what AMK currently sells . They don't have the squared off ends like assemblyline.  FYI the change from square to rounded changed in the early 70's.
