I am going to suggest that there is a late 1968 or C8 version of the hood hinges. Has the cut down section for hood clearance, but still retains the straight cut at the back of the hood mounting section.
The common C9 version has arc'd cut at the rear.

Nice work Scott

The rusted one is the C9? Do any of these have date codes?

Nice work Scott. Now I am going to have to check which versions I have as well. I was also only aware of the 2 versions

Yes, the dirty one is what we all know as the C9 hood hinge. Went through my core hinges, found one more. Dates are 4 30 D3, and 4 303.

So here’s my pair out of an original paint 68 390 GT unrestored, the one on the left is dated Jun 11 D3 and the one on the right Jan 10 D3, the car was built on Jun 19 1968 in Metuchen.

This looks like your C9 version, what’s your opinion?

Were all of the hinges done at the same stamping plant?

As far as a survey for the possible hood hinge change at Metuchen during 68 production I came up with somewhere between last week of January to end of February possibly first week of March 68.  Have collected the other plant info just haven't graphed it yet. Will work on graphics for all and post

These are the notched hood style, there’s more pics at the beginning of the thread

Good to know . That looks like the 68 notched style vs. the 69 notched style. FYI in your post without the side profile information it is hard to tell which one you are talking about given there are two notched styles and unless the profile picture is included in the same post as the other pictures when wanting a confirmation question about them answered.

Bob,
Sorry I didn’t think to repost it again from the (1) page to that thread,

I thought the rear of mine looked more like Scott’s C9 hinge am I missing something? Also is it possible to have my date code spread from Jan to Jun in these hinges, everything about their condition says they appear to have been installed at the same time.

Admittedly hard to tell unless side by side. It looks to me to be the 68 version with the slightly shorter notch section.
