1969 Mustang Mach 1 Air Conditioning Compressor
« on: October 28, 2019, 06:45:48 PM »
Good Afternoon,

I have a 1969 Mustang Mach 1 (9R02S187894) that was built in San Jose on July 10, 1969.  The car came with factory air conditioning, which the previous owner completely removed.  I am now looking to acquire the factory correct parts to be reinstalled on the car.  Can anyone tell me the correct style of AC compressor that would have come on the car?  Thanks!

Looks like the cast iron version was the most likely

Would that be the Tecumseh compressor?

Yes the cast iron Tecumseh. The dealer installed AC kit typically included the aluminum York (Lester) pump

On a somewhat related subject - There was an engine (to address the differences in engine application) and an interior kit was more standard across the models and engine types As you can see the hoses are slightly different from assembly line so you don't want to use them

Anyone that deals with used Ford parts would likely have one. If you want to do everything you'll want to focus on a decent pump with the right label (information) since those are not being reproduced that I know of. Never  had one rebuilt - should be someone out there that does them. Not knowing where your located you might want to call/contact West Coast Cougar an get one off a 69 Cougar and or place a Wanted ad in that section of the site.

Most sellers don't seem to keep the compressors as there is not allot of calls for them compared to allot of other items
