C6AE-6015-C 289 Blocks

Anyone have any knowledge related to the usage of the C6AE-6015-C 289 blocks like shown below. 



In a first look at my files and pictures I found casting dates in Dec 65 and Jan 66

Thanks and yes but not much to go on and the information is unconfirmed according to the site.

Kind of wondering why and where 66 Windsors were used and supplier to as well as how it applies to our cars.

The examples I have aren't tied to any specific applications nor VINs to help

Mannel only mentions it in passing:
"The Windsor foundry introduced its 1966 289 V8
with a new C6AE-6015-C block and continued its use
straight through 1968 289 production. It was functionally
identical and completely interchangeable with its
Cleveland foundry counterpart."

I knew I had seen the block mentioned but I couldn't remember where. It was just another source for a 289 block.

Mannel also states The block at the beginning of 1966 production was the same 1965 C5AE-6015-E casting but with more current date codes. It would continue to be used throughout 1966 and into 1967 production. These blocks were all from the Cleveland foundry.  When the Windsor, Ontario plant began 289 production, it used its own foundry to produce cylinder blocks which carried a casting number on f C6AE-6015-C (pg 6-7)
And some More.
 The Cleveland block carrying a casting number of C5AE-6015 and the Windsor block with C6AE-6015-C were unchanged except for updated date codes. (Pg.7-4)

Thanks had already read that though he or others haven't tracked down to what plants and in turn which Ford products received them

NP and you have a great point. The only reason I replied was because I had just read his book researching my engine block and heads. It seems mine is a ?Cleveland? block/heads (Hipo?) from late 64. For me I am finding information that I never knew about, fascinating. Unfortunately historical documentation is limited. Maybe some one had access to the various foundry?s documentation?
