I think that at some point that the Convertible Inner Wheelhouse Sheet metal did have a clearance in it for the Convertible Top Mechanism. Something that the designers forgot to add on the Original design drawings....lol...and was quickly rectified by the guys on the assembly lines bashing in Early Convertible inner wheelhouses. Would like to know when the Sheetmetal changeover took place. I would not be surprised if it was on a drawing somewhere in one of the early Osborn Ford Assembly Manuals.... I'll have to look...as I have them all of the '64-'66 Assembly manuals. This was also not the first time a Wheelhouse would be "Clearanced"....as some Early Convertibles did not have the Wheelhouse provision for the Spare Tire either...which was also later added...)Tony K.
