68 GT350 oil pressure wiring

Can some one tell me where the black with green stripe wire connects to the main harness? I think it has to be connected to the constant voltage regulator but just can not find the bullet connector to attach it.

Looked at the assembly manual and unfortunately they don't identify the wires by color code but you purpose :(

Shows one to the oil sender the other to instrument panel wiring harness. Lights for both gauges connect to the  the multi junction plugs in the dash wire loom it appears

Bet Pete and or Tim know where they hook up to. Hopefully they will respond

Question 2: Does the 68 Shelby use the same instrument cluster and wiring as a non-Shelby Mustang?
If so, reference the 68 Mustang Electrical Assembly Manual (AM0023) pages 23, 85 and 87.

Question 2: Yes
The difference is the gages are in the console and there are unique wiring harnesses that are Shelby only.
The Shelby assembly manual only says to attach to the main harness.
I did not disassemble this so I have no idea where to look. I have looked at those pages several times.

The standard Mustang underdash wiring harness does not have anywhere to plug in an accessory black/green (CVR output power) for a console gauge.  The only place to tap into that line is within the dash harness or the CVR output line (which is a female spade at the CVR).  I looked at the Cobranda site for conversion of 68 Mustang to Shelby and they do not mention anything about a console gauge or harness for a console.

Not likely hooked into the CVR circuit.
SW gauges were typically installed using their own sender unit and direct-wired per their own instruction sheet(s).

Marty, ask Wild Bill over on the West coast. His 67 should be very similar.

Not all Mustang underdash wiring is  the same. The Shelby uses a GT tach harness that is shared with some Mustangs. During 1968, there is no Shelby unique harnesses other than the console gauges and the tail light bulb harnesses.

The black/green console oil pressure wire gets its power from the three way yellow connector under the dash.

The same connnector as the tilt wiring gets power from

Thank you so much Pete. I did not know that the SW gages used full 12V. It must just be quinsadence that the oil pressure gage wire is black with a green stripe and so is the constant voltage wiring in the dash. I know exactly where the yellow connector is.

Yeah, black/green is both input (12 V ACC) and CVR output (only within the dash cluster).  I completely forgot about the 3 pin female plug short of the fusebox.  That's where you would plug in your power line to the oil pressure gauge for the Shelby.
