67 order type
« on: January 07, 2011, 04:26:59 PM »
Hello,

I just got the deluxe Marti for my Branded Mustang.  Does anyone know what the Order Type - Summer-Winter Rental means?

What about a DSO of 5022?

Thanks,
Fran

Sounds like the dealer was planning on using the car as a dealership rental for customers or possibly someone in the family.

Is that the complete DSO or is there a district (two digit) number before those four numbers?

Does this help in any way?

A Retail order type is coded with a 1
A Stock order type is coded with a 2
And a Fleet order type is coded with a 5
I'd be interested in learning what a Summer-Winter Rental is coded with.

Does the car have a special order paint color, that it utilizes a 4-digit DSO?

The DSO Item # in a Marti Report is similar to a purchase order number. Since a vehicle order has no identity until a serial number is assigned, the DSO Item # serves to identify the vehicle until the serial number is assigned. Marti has an example here:

In researching this order type, I came across a reference of a Summer-Winter Rental on a Marti Report with Romy Hammes as the selling dealer. Romy Hammes was one of the dealership to hold both a FALS (Ford Authorized Leasing System) and FRCS (Ford Rent-A-Car System) franchise. See attached ad. I believed that the Summer-Winter Rental order type defines a vehicle destined for one of these programs. Also found a reference that this order type is code N.
I'm assuming the difference between a leased car and a rented car would be the length of the term, but there may be other differences as well. Anyone know more about these programs?

Thanks for all of the help.  Sorry it took so long to get back to you.  I also have a code N in the order type.

You may have seen one, but here's a copy of an order form for a Branded Mustang Kit. They had kits available for 1965-1968. 15 different vinyl tops, and 5 different colored stripes.

Anyone have a reference to color swatches for the vinyl top fabric?
