Just checked a local  68 KR with a/c & its teal  & a local 69 428 cj mach1 non a/c & its black both NJ cars & wondering if anybody noticed a pattern between the 2 vendors depending on the pulley type & size & rear pump outlet tube angle (with & without cooler) & mounting bracket raw steel vs black & both vendor aluminum pump mounting brackets big C7AZ id # vs small c7az #. Wonder if the pump vendor pre-assembled both  brackets & pulleys & index before being sent to the assembly plant like the steering rack was?

Probably no help, but both my 70 cars (9/11/69 and 9/30/69 Metuchen AC cars) have Teal pumps.... My 70 Cleveland car (Mid production Dearborn car) has a Black pump...…

First was going to send you to the unrestored picture threads but the examples there that are visible have been altered from new.

Looking through my pictures all of the unrestored/unrepainted I found were the teal

Examples from 302-2V - 428CJ Just a couple

9T01F1287xx

9T02H2100xx

9T02R1493xx

9T02R1630xx Though everything around it appears to be repainted poorly the pump appears to be original complete with chips

I am replacing the power steering pump on my 69 Mach 1, 351w.  What parts are painted blue, just the reservoir, or both the reservoir and the front face of the pump?
Thanks.
Phil

If the pump tag has a single "F" in the second or third line of the metal pump tag secured to the rear nut then it is the teal blue ,back reservoir and front . If a single "W" then it is black front and back . It could  have ether pump.

Search feature is your friend. The answer to you question is posted in the FAQ section of almost every model year group in this section "1st Generation 1964 1/2 - 1973 - General discussions that apply to a specific year" since it is such a common question. For this section its question #7 ;)

Search use would have turned up some of the following
