Can someone tell me what this pictured connection goes to? From a 67 Mustang 200 6 cyl 3 speed. This connection comes out of the harness right by the ignition switch. There is some sort of over spray on it but the wires look like blue with red stripe.
It is not used on most cars. I believe that it is a dash light circuit. It would be used if you had a lighted ash tray.
First time I ever heard of a lighted ash tray option on a Mustang.I always suspected the engineers considered it at one time but never followed through adding it.
The ash tray retainer had a special rectangular hole for a light bracket. Its Ford part number is C4DB-62048326 indicating a Fairlane developed item. Did 64 Fairlanes have lighted ash trays?Jim
I have seen such a hole on other cars, even ones WITHOUT an ash tray light but do not recall ever seeing this square hole on a 67 or 68 Mustang ashtray.Pictures Please
