Topic: Brake hose marking restoration

My brake hose is clean, in good shape and the end fittings have been re-plated.
I've made a scaled drawing of what the original markings should be.

For those who have re-marked their hoses, what process worked for you?

I was hoping to avoid a lot of experimentation -- but this is my life.

I sourced some vinyl sign cutting scraps that had "scales" cut out of them and did a film transfer to a cleaned up old hose.

I didn't take the greatest of care in the application (like I would if I was really doing this) but here a few pics. Yeah, it's the inverse of how numbers are laid down but I was looking for how well the vinyl prevents bleed.

There is a little bleed as the film isn't perfectly laid down but this shows promise . . .
The color isn't too bad considering I wanted a gold/orange color.

Over the years adding pics has proven troublesome.

I can add, at most, one pic using the attachments button. Subsequent pics I add by modifying the post and adding more pics. You see most of my picture posts have the "post modified at [timestamp]" at the bottom.
If I try and add 2 or more pics the session hangs and I get a white screen. If I do a "browser back" chances are poor anything got posted at all.

Today, even adding one failed. So I posted the text and go in and add the pics using the "Modify" feature. Judging by your time stamp you must have read the text between the post and modify.
