Data plate restoration
« on: March 02, 2019, 06:28:00 PM »
My Data Plate has overspray from a paint job 30 years ago. We want to clean it up now during our restoration but I fear that we will take the black background off. How can we clean the overspray off?

That should be pretty easy. The challenge will be removing the fine film of paint without rubbing through the base back. Still going to have the scratches but it should improve.

I would first try with wax and grease remover on a rag focusing on the paint overspray section. With any luck it will be a single stage paint with no hardener

Sure others will have some suggestiongs

Try some Simple Green.  I've had luck removing light over-spray in some cases.
