68 Dearborn spring saddle
« on: February 03, 2019, 04:44:07 PM »
Would a July 68 Dearborn be expected not to have spring saddles as pictured. Would the FoMoCo in a box be typical ?

I looked through what I've got and can't help with this one. Do find the oval design on 69's but that's not a direct answer for your need :(

The rectangle seems to be more typical, the ovals are service replacements IMHO.

The ovals and the rectangle are both originals from all the suspension I have seen and been working on.  There just seems to be a change over period that was around 1970 where you see the oval being used and not the rectangle anymore.
At least thats what I have been seeing here.

That seems to be the question and something we should keep an eye open for - what time period for the change.  Going to need allot of examples but we've shown it can be done or at least we can get a better idea and narrow it down more.

The Shelby has the rectangular outline.
In a tub I have marked "original Boss" it also shows up as rectangular.
I have 85% confidence the B2 piece is original as I don't ever mess about with that tub. I used another set of saddles when I converted to poly on the B2.
