Topic: Prepping Interior Panels for Paint

I am getting ready to paint the interior quarter panels and interior door surfaces of my 64.5. I recall a discussion before about prepping these panels with caution about the grain on these panels, but unable to locate it.  What is best way to preserve grain?Thnaks.

Personally, I use paint stripper to remove all paint layers and contaminants. This can easily be done on a car that is currently being driven, using care not to get the stripper where you don't want it. After the stripper, I wash the panels with water to neutralize any remnant stripper, air dry or wipe dry, then start with basic metal prep prior to paint such as wax/grease remover, light scuff for adhesion, light coat of etching primer (if you chose to), followed by a top coat of paint/color.
