Topic: Engine ID Tag Code

Trying to determine of the engine ID tag I have is correct for my SJ blue fastback (build date June of 65).  The engine tag says 563-J.  The website below says that it is for a K code but it is an A code.  Can anyone confirm this code is for a K or A code or if my manifold or engine tag was swapped at some point.  The date code matches up as 5-D

Bob Mannel's book decodes it as K code, from a Fairlane, with manual transmission.

Interesting. The car was a four speed originally. Is there anything on the manifold or block to tell me this motor was out of a Fairlane? The engineering numbers are technically the same, correct? I can’t say for certain this motor is original  to the car

There is more info on the tag that might help figure out where it came from (out of)

Matches up with??  Block casting date, head casting dates, block assembly date, carb.......?

The car has a "projected"build date of 04T.  The tag reads as follows:

289  65  7
5-D  563-J

I can't see the assembly date due to the AC compressor.  I plan to change the oil pan so hopefully i can see it there.  I will check the date codes on the manifold and block soon
