67 steering wheel center hub
« on: January 26, 2019, 11:59:19 AM »
Is there a method to installing a new plastic chrome ring on the center hub of a standard interior steering wheel? I tried heating the hub with a heat gun but still couldn't get the ring to slide down

Thanks,

Craig

Steam heat and some dish soap usually works if the pad is not too sun baked.

I did see they made a metal version. While not correct, I can’t see them breaking or fading. I doubt you are installing an NOS version. Just an FYI.

I used a little vinyl protectant as a lube on mine.  Worked like a charm.
